What the sources say
Probably William Jones (born 1803 in England), who married Rhoda White, the roll’s Rhoda Jones, about 1860; Family Tree records him in Weber County in 1860 and his excommunication from the LDS Church at Weber on March 31, 1861 (FamilySearch LWFK-BKP, probable match). He is not the William J. Jones whose capture and detention at the fort in the spring of 1862 brought the posse (see Jones, William J.); which of the two the other references to a William Jones mean has not been settled.
